The Revival: the descent to the terraces
The 19th century in Aglen: the village comes down from the heights to the river terraces, raises its church, and gives Bulgaria Trifon Kunev.
The Lukovit Karst Travel guideAs the village tells it the church of St Archangel Michael is said to have been built in 1888 — the earliest specific date recorded for a building in the village.
According to published records in 1880, at the end of this period, Trifon Kunev was born in the village.
As the village tells it in the calmer decades of the 19th century the village came down from the heights to the wider terraces by the river, where conditions for farming were better.
