The Lukovit Karst Travel guideAs the village tells it a legend is told in Aglen that “silent people” once lived in the deepest caves and under the rock overhangs, who lit no smoking fire so that the spirits of the mountain would not see them, and who ate river mussels, wild onion and the meat of forest animals.

A village in Lukovit municipality, Lovech Province — the only settlement in Bulgaria whose name begins with the letter “Ъ”. It sits in the Vit River valley among the limestone rocks of the Lukovit Karst.
