The Lukovit Karst Travel guideAs the village tells it a legend is told in Aglen that the first farmers of the valley made their first furrow where the river makes its sharpest bend under the rock, believing the earth there to be “kissed by the lords of the underworld”, because the springs came straight out of the rock and carried life even through drought.

A village in Lukovit municipality, Lovech Province — the only settlement in Bulgaria whose name begins with the letter “Ъ”. It sits in the Vit River valley among the limestone rocks of the Lukovit Karst.
